Building a Community Around Our Mission

As a community-based organization, WEOP serves as a powerful economic driver by harnessing the power of local volunteers, partners, and community members. This collective effort amplifies our impact and is instrumental in building a reputation of trust among supporters from both the public and private sectors.

Deeply rooted in the community, WEOP actively engages community members in leadership roles, program design, and implementation. Involvement of the community fosters a sense of ownership and empowerment, ensuring that the community thrives. This unique approach not only differentiates WEOP, it also amplifies impact, fostering a thriving, supportive, and equitable community.

Led by women of color, the organization has direct insights and an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of their communities. This insight allows WEOP to promote “culturally relevant” and customized programming to effectively address specific issues and projects that are

beneficial for women of color.

We believe in the strength in numbers and believe that a united community can advocate for policy changes, attract funding, and influence broader social change.
