Empowering Leaders, Strengthening Community Aligned with WEOP’s Mission
After more than two decades of dedicated service, we are stepping boldly into the future, deepening our impact, expanding our reach, and encouraging leadership at every level. As a women-led, community-based organization, our work is rooted in the lived experiences of the women we serve, especially those historically underrepresented.
WEOP’s “Community-Centered Approach” is a call to action. We empower women to take the lead, engage directly in projects, and shape the dialogue on critical issues. This approach is strengthened by a vibrant ecosystem of strategic partners, volunteers, business and industry experts, anchor institutions, and local government collaborators. Moving into 2026, we lead with purpose, connect with intention, and continue creating pathways for women to shape the future.
POWER LEADERSHIP: AMPLIFYING VOICES THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Join us on March 10, 2026 at the Georgia State Capitol. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to helping women assume leadership roles, especially in civic life, where their voices are needed. We believe that when women understand their power, they can play an integral role in shaping policy, influencing decisions, and driving change in their communities.
Our role has been to convene meaningful gatherings, such as community meetings and listening sessions with State Representatives at the Georgia State Capitol. These impactful sessions, organized in collaboration with trusted partners like Small Business Majority, are designed to educate and inform. We encourage women to see themselves as leaders, amplify their voices and become active participants in the decisions that affect their lives and livelihoods.
BUILDING COMMUNITY LEADERS
Aligned with the mission, WEOP is intentional about inspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to embrace leadership roles within their communities. Through forums, focus groups, hands-on training projects, and other engaging activities, we empower, educate, train, and inform those we serve. Our community-centered approach encourages women to lead where they live which strengthens communities and fuels business growth.
Our approach is grounded in the understanding that business ownership is not only a path to personal success but also a powerful tool for community impact. When women recognize themselves as leaders, they begin to see how their decisions, values, and actions can strengthen their businesses while simultaneously driving economic advancement within their communities.
Annual Economic Equity Forums
We lead two signature annual events focused on economic empowerment and inclusion: WEOP’s annual “Economic Equity Forums” foster dialogue between community members, industry leaders, and policymakers. We continue to collaborate with partners which have included Asian Pacific American Women, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Kindred Futures, Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, Georgia AIM, and Small Business Majority. These high-impact events have been hosted at prestigious venues such as Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and Georgia State University.
WEOP is committed to cultivating leadership and creating meaningful pathways for community involvement. Through volunteerism and hands-on projects, we have propelled women into leadership roles. Each month, we post new opportunities on our website and actively share updates to encourage participation. Our monthly newsletter and consistent presence on social media help us stay connected and ensure that our community remains informed, engaged, and inspired to lead.
